Hardest thing I ever did in the military was dodging BNOC for my last year or so.

They wanted to trick me in to putting away my sham shield and stumbling in to the trap of reenlistment vie the “I’ve made it this far” sunk cost fallacy.

Little did they know, I had shammed my way too far to give it up and only packet I’d be turning in was for my promotion to Private Fucking Civilian.

I remember a young guy at the gas station back from Vietnam, he was a little nuts. He brings out a grenade and was explaining about it's safe until you pull the pin and let go of the handle, he pulled the pin to demonstrate. As he's putting the pin back in he fumbled it, dropping it on the floor. All of us started running as he laughed his ass off.
