Guys I have found a nice old mini 14 stainless pre ranch rifle
    For 500 bucks. Nice wood.
    I really want it.

I had a newer mini 14 years ago the 580 series and I hated it. Lots of plastic on it.

Should I? It will complete my garand action rifle collection

Depending how old it is I think they are .223 only. Other than that the Stainless on wood Mini 14's are beautiful and for $500 I would be tempted myself. Always wanted one.

I have a 187 series SS and you would be lucky to hit a bull in the ass at 25yds. Maybe not quite that bad but it's the most inaccurate rifle I own. YMMV. Lots of articles about how they won't group and no fixes.

Not completely accurate. My early Ranch Mini would walk off the paper at 25 yds. I installed an Accu-Strut and a muzzle brake and it will stay within 6 inches at 100 yds. Just me, but I think the rifle looks kinda stylish with the strut. Chasing through the distributor's pages, I see it is available in SS.

All it is for is to have on my Kubota when I'm driving around.
I had the newer one the 580? And it wasn't that much better. Plus all the plastic.

I rest my case. A 6" group at 100yds for a 223???? I have a box stock bottom dollar AR 15 that will shoot MOA.

I have a 181 series in stainless steel. I shot 2" groups with open sights at 50 yards. Not as accurate but fun gun.
