Why is it in 223 76239 54539 and other calibers, that they come packaged in 20 round boxes? Is it because of weight? Or do they do that to tic us off so we have to buy more than just one box to fill up a magazine? You have to buy 6 boxes to fill up 4 mags!!!!!

It's all even numbers as long as you have an even number of magazines ;)

I usually take it out of all that packaging anyway and put it loose into an ammo can.

Yes I do that too. But, if they sell em in 30's then I could buy 4 boxes instead of 6 boxes. I could see 20 round count in a ar because they were issued with 20's to start out with. But the com bloc calibers. cmon on man!

Then 7.62x39 should come in 10 round boxes, because it was originally used in the SKS. 10 round magazine. :p

I'm *really* trying to understand what difference it makes. Industry standard is 20 rounds for rifle caliber, 50 for pistol.....been that way for as long as I can remember - and I've got ammo boxes that date back to the 40's!

Beh, doesn't matter to me either. 20 rounds is fine. I don't chew through ammo, unless your going to the range and blowing through 250 rounds in an hour why even care?

I know I've gotten silver bear 5.45 in 30 rnd packs as for brown bear I couldn't tell you all never used it. To be honest I've never really thought about it.

At the ranch I shoot at least 100 rounds out my ak's and ar. No armadillo, crow, coyote, or snake is safe. Hmm ok never thought of it. But, brown bear doesnt have a 545 its silver bear and they are 30 count.

It's the industry standard and has been for years 20 rounds x 50 boxes = 1000 rounds etc...

Besides we'd all complain if the ammo we bought were in say 30 or 40 or 75 round boxes. It's called pricing, now if I could just get 22 short for 35 cents LR for 45 and 44 mag for $7 life would once more be good.
