Just a quick roll-call for all my greater-Houston area folks.

Various streets around the neighborhood are flooded, bayous are cresting, but we are high and dry.

    Everyone else ok?

    Out here by the lake!
Tried to go to work twice only getting to Braes Bayou the second time. Trucks running rough need to go disconnect the battery & see if the check engine light is something big.

We are ok, our daughter in the Woodlands is Ok, my son got some water in his house (W. Little York @ Hwy 6) through the garage.

I just had to fetch 2 very heavy trash cans from 5 houses down our street. Apparently the full cans not only got a lot of water in them but also literally floated away. Looking at the high water mark in my yard, it would appear our street was about 3.5' deep in water last night.

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

No water in the house for us in the woodlands. Never seen our street flood before, it was half way up our driveway @ 5 this morning. Tried to get to work in Aldine this morning, no good, too much water.

    Never again ...

We lost our home to the high waters of Allison in 2001.
I rebuilt on higher ground a few block West, and our current finished floor here is 36" above grade.

But, it was getting to the point that it all depended upon whether Braes Bayou overflows its banks as to whether my neighbors are in danger ... jury is still out.

Yes, I-10 in downtown is closed, but you can take the north loop (610) around with no problems.
