Sorry OP I had to chuckle when I saw this. And Salty, we are not JM and he damn sure doesn't use it with a pistol grip.

I've got 3 ideas why mossberg created this.
1. To make follow up shots faster and more accurately using a pistol grip shotgun.
2. Home/business/self defense shotgun. Criminals might not know a lot about guns and this one looks scary. CA, Chicago, and MD should ban it any day now.
