I'm headed to close on my first house at noon today. In all of the excitement I remembered that I need to update my address for my CHL. I remember in the class that they said you can't carry until the new updated license comes in. But when does that start? As soon as that is my primary residence(I start sleeping there) or can I carry using my current license until the lease here expires? Also Anyone had to do this lately? Does this license go into a different line or does it go to the back of the line with all of the new CHL Applications?

    Thanks for the help guys!

It isn't true that you cannot carry until you receive the changed license. You CAN carry. You must notify DPS within 30 days of a change. Follow the link above. While you are at it, do your DL too.

Moving is great, but the act sucks. Best of luck for an easy one.
