Your qualification targets have pictures of real people on them? With a bullseye on the head?

In my texas LTC class, we were taught not to go for headshots as that is attempted murder.

This is the b27 target used for the Texas LTC range qualification.

I've been retired 10 years. This is what we used. Most use the same target now just a grey silhouette though. This is still a valid cleet target though.

We do still have the triple tap and head shot at 5 yards.

There are time limits and positioning on each stage but the basics are this.

6 from the 25
2 from the 15
4 from the 7
4 from the 5, one is a head shot
6 from the 3, 3 being off hand single handed
3 from the 1, single hand hip fire

If you're justified in using deadly force, then it doesn't matter whether you shoot him in the head, the heart, or center of mass. Deadly force is deadly force.
