    One of my LGS has had this mid 1950s Mint hi standard m 101 with all paperwork and original.

    I had not been in there in months and made a cash out the door offer and took it.
    Will be going to reds this week.

    Broke it down last last night and was surprised their is no part of the frame under the plastic grips.

    I believe the grips were never taken off ever

    Be careful, the grips play a part in holding the slide release spring in, it's very easy to lose. Other than that, I have a Hi-Standard whose frame eventually cracked. Having the frame replaced made the gun nowhere near as fun to shoot. Prior to that, it was my favorite gun. If you aren't aware, do not use any high velocity ammo in them, it'll make it more likely to have a frame crack.
