    I have started working out at the gym and I need to drop some weight.
    Right now I am 6'-3" 250% and measured 28% body fat.
    I would like to get down to about 13-15% it's really ambitious I know.
    My question is what weight is that? How do you compute it and loosing say 2lb a week how long before I reach it?
    Thanks. Usually I am good at math but this has me stumped.

    I didn't think body fat was a direct correalation to body weight. If I remember, muscle is more dense so weighs more than the same amount of fat. So I think you could stay the same weight and still reduce your waist size by building muslce. I know my weight has stayed pretty much the same for quite some time, but I am wearing larger waist pants (more fat, less muscle). I am determined to get that fixed, though, before buying all new clothes. I think that is why they measure the "amount of flab" when do body mass calculations.

    Assuming that 28% body fat is a function of 250# total body weight, you have 70# of fat on you.
    We could then determine that, in round numbers, 180# would be 0% body fat, and 211# is 15% body fat.

    BUT you will probably be adding muscle instead of just cutting calories and carbs to get to this point, so the numbers above aren't good for anything but a math exercise. haha get it...math exercise. :)

    28 lbs of fat is along of volume too. Density is about .9g for cubic centimeter. Again since is doesnt consider muscle gains this is just hypothetical.

    The next question is how do we measure volume?

    Something else to do, is think back to a time when you were in really good shape, say high school football or basketball or something like that, and see if you can remember what you weighed. Then just workout and eat and aim for that bodyweight

    Here is the math.
    Current.
    250x.28= 70 lbs of fat
    250-70=180 lbs lean body mass

    Goal
    250x.15=37.5
    180+37.5=217.5 goal weight.
