Due to cost and availability of places to go/distance, I rarely deer hunt in Texas anymore. I find myself going home to Indiana in the winter and coyote hunting with my uncle. I normally swap my Aimpoint out for a Nikon 3-9x40 on my AR but would like to do a dedicated 22-250 this year. What do y'all recommend? I looked at a Savage Model 12 and a Remmy 700. I'd like to keep it under a grand.

You can't go wrong with a Savage. Their price, accuracy out of the box, and features make them one of the best values out there.

Thanks, i'll check out some budget worthy Savage models. Is the accu-trigger a must have? Saw the affordable Axis model as well but has a stiff 7lb-ish pull.

Edit: Bud's has a great deal on a Savage Model 11 with accutrigger and Nikon glass. Thanks guys!
