I need to get a decent LOW COST red-dot in about a month. Here's the situation:
My budget is $70 or less. (I'm serious, stop laughing.)
It's going on a flat-top AR.
What i need:
1. Cheap
2. Holds zero
3. Looks semi-tacti-cool
I am trying to save for a decent aimpoint, but do to time constraints, i need to get something in the next few weeks. (Anything quality is out of the question for at least a year, due to daycare/mortgage/taxes/car repair costs)
Father in law coming to town, wants to go shooting. He can't see all that great, so we won't be shooting beyond 50 yds.
Wife (who's not a big gun fan anyway) will be joining us, so to maximize her enjoyment, she needs to be able to use it quickly, easily, and effectively.
This scope is more of a political/marketing purchase than anything. "Training wheels" for the rifle, so they both enjoy it and aren't ready to leave after 10 rounds down range.
I'm fine with the iron sights, but if i have to teach them how to use those, they will both glaze over about 48 seconds into the instruction.
I've looked at the truglo's, and the BSA's, and the barska's...those seem to be the only ones in my price range, and the reviews all seem to be mixed at best. A 2x would be better, but i think i can live with a 1x.
Please help. And thanks in advance for your feedback.
