New gun owner.. almost

Hi there. I just purchased my first gun today but could not take it home due to the fact that the address on my drivers license was not current. Fail on my part but I hope to get it updated quickly and pick up my Mossberg 500!

On that note, anyone know if I can use the temp drivers license they give at the DPS office for the background check they do at the gun shop?

I've tried to use my Temp DL, and I have been told no... I think its more of a CYA matter on the sellers part, and would they rather have the hard copy updated than a Temp DL.

yeah that heppened to me the other day. going back this coming week to pick it up FINALLY.

yeah im not sure if a temp id would work. i think technically it does, but yeah its a CYA measure. i enver got a chance to find out becasue my new id came int he mail already! so ill be using it in a couple of days.

I updated my address online and they accepted the temp license from a print out. Got the gun today!
