Hopefully her constituents subjects will realize her term of office isn't absolute either. This should cost her any chance of completing her term or holding office ever again. It's amazing to see that New Mexico has this much of a Democrat leaning. Hopefully it won't be enough for her to maintain her position.

Part of the leftist leanings I think can be traced back to the state's large Indian reservations. I have never personally seen a reservation that was not heavily impoverished - even the ones with big, glittery casinos - most of the residents of the reservations are poor and getting government assistance (as well as tribal assistance) and so they tend to favor those who provide the social programs vs the ones who want you to get off your ass and improve yourself and get a job. Sorry, not sorry to say that.

Then you add in the fact that neither major city in New Mexico is really all that large - Santa Fe and Albuqurque being the two big ones - but both are college towns essentially and thus congregate more leftist voters.

My last trip thru New Mexico almost made me feel like I was back in Oregon, even in the rural parts of the state where we stopped the rainbow coalition was very prevalent (and I'm not just referring to interstate travelers, but also the workers at restuarants, gas stations, and stores) - again while there are members of that group that lean conservative, they're a minority within a minority.
