Picked up this little lightweight Savage Model 42 O/U .22wmr/.410 takedown just a couple of weeks ago. I need to get it out to the range (I’m recovering from some surgery and it will be a few more weeks).

I ordered a sight mount for it from EGW (evolution gun works) and plopped a Bushnell TRS-125 atop.

Trigger pull is pretty nice at 4 lbs. and it came with carry bag with plenty of space for ammo and accessories.

Nice. I see a single trigger; does it use a selector for barrel choice?
I haven't seen an O/U rifle in the wild in many years....
Definitely, we need a range report once you get that chance.

Yes… if you look carefully at the hammer you’ll see the manual selector for barrel choice. (The little bump on the front of the hammer in the picture). When hammer is cocked… the selector can be moved up or down.

this was an ‘impulse’ buy at one of my favorites LGSs… I was shopping for another .22wmr to add to my collection and it had just arrived and was in the rack

My father in law had a 60’s era one. I was so enamoured with that gun. There were several sons, so I was never going to end up with it. But I always thought it was very cool.

    I seem to remember his was a 22 Hornet / 410.
