Land is expensive up and down that strip of 290 (between Fredricksburg and Johnson City). It's extremely good for raising grapes to make wine!! And therefore it's expensive.

In that area look up Young Guns and Jewelry in Kerrville. The front part is like Zales or a typical jewelry and back is a gun shop with more guns than I have seen in one place except for maybe Ray's in West Dallas. Momma shops up front and you get the back. Just be careful they have up to abt 7 ct diamond rings. The owner has a 7.5ct. It's not a pawn shop but a gun and jewelry store. 2 6' display cases full of Kimbers, sigh, among others.

Young's Guns is OK. I'd forgotten about them. They have some nice guns of all kinds and will make a deal on some of them. Nice folks, friendly and knowledgeable.

Looking for rifle ranges I came across Hill Country Shooting Sports near Kerrville. Sounds like they have ranges out to 500 yards and free transfers for members with is a nice perk.

    Anyone familiar with the place?
