No Sales Tax on Gun Safe

I just read there is no TX sales tax on a gun safe or other item designed to improve the safe handling or storage of firearms. As someone in the market for a safe, I am surprised this is not a selling point that has come up with sales reps I have talked to. Is this a law that nobody knows about or are recent buyers actually getting their safes tax free?
