I'm going to be spending a week in ND. I need to know where I can not carry. Checking a couple of websites it looks like casinos, schools, churches, political rallies, public buildings, and sporting events. Places that sell alcohol? They sell it in grocery stores and restaurants. I wonder if that just means bars.

Anything thing else that I need to keep in mind when carrying in ND?

    Thanks,

    Rob

I was hoping for 1 or 2 replies since North Dakota is a great state to be FROM. I guess I'll just have to see if I can talk to a LEO shortly after I arrive to bring me up to speed on ND CHL law.

Good place to check is,www.handgunlaw.us this is a great resource for traveling with a hand gun. The site is updated very frequently, and has the most up to date info. Also you should be able to look at ND law on line. One other thing is that a LEO may not have or know the best info on carry law in any state, I would always check the laws myself.

Robmoo, for one this is Texas Gun Talk. It's a great source of info about laws of the Lone Star State, but to expect the same expertise on other states is asking a bit much.

Secondly, I would not trust a LEO to be entirely accurate on the gun laws of his/her state. I've met many officers who weren't current on carry laws. This is not a slight on them, there is no way a person can be an expert across the entire penal code at the municipal and state levels.

Thirdly, I have found in addition to the reference Refugee from California posted that the NRA also has great overviews of every state's gun laws. Here is North Dakota's...

    NRA-ILA | North Dakota

A quick Google search found the North Dakota Attorney General's website on gun laws as well...

State Laws - ND Century Code

Lastly, I've been up to North Dakota three times in the past two years. It's a nice place to visit and the folks there are very friendly much like Texans; but I wouldn't want to live there!

    Cheers! M2
