Watched a show a little while ago about Kuruma-edi shrimp production and consumption in Japan. Those things are huge and beautiful . Happy to report no Wasabi roots were harmed in the production. They kept talking about how sweet they tasted. They can be packed in sawdust and shipped and live for up to two days. Also, they molt, so, like crabs, they have a soft shell phase. They ship some worldwide, including US. In Hong Kong, ONE shrimp can sell for $50 US.

So....I've come to the conclusion that Japan, (and perhaps the whole Asian population, ) is OCD. Sweet, huh? Well, snow crab is sweet. But Texas gulf brown shrimp are buttery, and the best damn shrimp ever.

BTW: I have some green beans I'll sell them for $50 a pound. .. ( different story, but they do it.)
