https://www.amazon.com/s?k=liquid-i...407672&tag=googhydr-20&ref=pd_sl_57mwv2iw9a_eWell the heat whooped me pretty good yesterday. Even drinking lots of water, I think I still got somewhat dehydrated. Woke up about 4 am and was hugging the toilet. (I blame the strawberry milkshake and the beer I had for dinner last night for that!) About 6 am, I decided to eat something because I was starving to death. Made some eggs bacon and toast. About 8 am, my stomach rebelled and it wa back to hugging the toilet again. By that time, I had an awful headache and just felt like crap, so I took a couple Advil, crawled back into bed with the A/C cranked up on high. Just woke back up a little while ago. I feel better, but just still tired and thirsty.
I think it was a mild case of heat exhaustion. Probably fixing the broken water line did it. But, I had no choice in getting it fixed. I was drinking lots of water, but I think I was still sweating it out faster than I was replacing it. Once I got back to the house, my clothes were soaking wet.
It's not just the heat, but the high humidity that saps your energy. This is why I say it can still sneak up on you. Y'all be careful out there.
Yeah I've noticed it was easier in my 20s, 30s, 40s, even 50s but have to go a bit slower now a days.
Have you tried these?
I have. I swear by them. I drink a bottle of water with one about an hour before I go out in the heat for an extended period of time. They work great but the taste does take a little getting used to.

Hot work?Honestly- No. About to order some on a good word.
I got bit Friday a little bit myself. Been drinking a gallon of water a day, everyday. We had a job to do Friday @ 5pm. Bucket work and the heat got me. I came down in bad shape. Was craving Gatorade. Seems I need some salt and sugar. Water just isn't enough. Honestly, depending on how much you sweat... I don't really think you can keep up with the demand when running full throttle.
Coffee and beer are no help either. But....
