So, we have been under a "boil water" notice since Saturday.
One woman on the neighborhood page stated that she washed her hair outside using the water hose, so she didn't have to worry about boiling it.
She was dead serious...
Spendy operation. I checked a week ago, my $1,400 deck would cost me about $2,000 today.Deck is framed... ran short on 2x8s joist. I need 3 more, So no deck boards put down like i wanted.
I'll pick those up tomorrow & get deck boards layed.

I really REALLY wonder how people like that get thru life. Did anyone point out her obvious stupidity? So, we have been under a "boil water" notice since Saturday.

I hope you included the know fact that her hair will rot out after using non potable water to wash it.Yes.

You're right as usual, some lessons are best learned 1st hand.I wouldn't do something like that.
I bought the lumber for both decks at the same time...knowing prices would go up.
It just took me a month to get to the back deck...lol. They're both the same size... 12'x16' with 6x6 post, doubled up 2x10 beams, with 2x8 joist & 2x6 for the deck boards.
Thank ya sir.
Here's the front deck that KJQ helped me with last month. The back will be identical. The 2x8s cantilever over the 2x10s. It gives it a better look IMO.

Looks pretty damn good! Are you going to go with a railing around it or leave it open?
With wood prices the way they are... no railing for now. If wood stays crazy then they'll stay open.
