I hope this "oops we screwed up" case gets rammed up Cuomo's tailpipe.

The guy who's firearms were confiscated wouldn't have even known, the state wouldn't have known they screwed up, unless he got his lawyer like he did. That's incredible! NY is just steamrolling it's citizens without regard.

so the question is... when will the first gunfight break out at someone's house due to this? I think this will be the first test of how many officers are willing to put their lives on the line for some BS like this.

There have been several times in my life that I was so overwhelmed with grief and loss that I considered getting counseling. I resisted that because I worked jobs that required security clearances and knew shit like this would happen sooner or later. I'm tough and I gutted the problems out alone but it would have been much better to get some help.

Sure enough, here's discrimination based upon receiving help in coping! If someone is acting up and making dangerous statements, I believe stepping in is the right plan. Without bad behavior to justify it, that's just plain wrong.

And this is the danger. Now people who need legitimate help with something will refuse to seek
said help out of fear of having their legally owned property seized.

It only makes the problem worse.

Mental health has always been a tyrants ally in dealing with opposition. Gun grabbing by calling the slightest hiccup a mental problem. Where there's a will, there's a way. And I believe the Will is strong in this one. The Way will be anything he can get away with. It starts with the states with his biggest ally's.

I've always thought that "moderation" was a worthy goal - that compromise is a noble calling - and "tolerance" was next to Godliness.

Problem with this philosophy is that Marxist-Leninist "progressives" see compromise as merely a teensy- wheensy bit of a wider crack in our door eventually leading to their take over and the " fundamental transformation" of our Constitutional Republic into their Marxist collective.

"Progressives" are not " tolerant", and "moderation" is only for conservatives.

Session time for "tolerance" has expired.

God help the union thug, Black Panther , or Bloomberg-like fool that crosses my path.

    I'm not anti-social ........just anti-socialist.

I actually lived in Austin for a short spell back in 1992 managing an apartment complex.

Job didn't pan out . After a few months of running gang-bangers out of the laundry room, and entertaining some other "peculiar" behavioral tendancies - I beat a path back to New Braunfels .....where I should have remained.

The problem with most laws or proposed laws nowadays is that it does leave the door wide open for current want-to-be tyrants or future tyrants to take away our rights easily. The constitution was written with this in mind, to protect rights, not just for now, but for the future generations. Now politicians just say "trust us" and think that will suffice, and for most dumbasses it does.

This is a damn joke. Sadly, there won't be much of a consequence. The more these shit heads get away with, the worse it will get. They WILL get away with far more, and it WILL get far worse. The path of the pen has run out of paper and our ink's run dry. We are like a bunch child taking swings at an adult, while behing held back with a hand on our forehead. Sooner or later, we will have to use a tool that will equalize the fight. Until then, the adult's just gonna keep laughing at us while palming our forehead.

You are absolutely correct. I take anti anxiety meds. Sometimes I am on them and sometimes I don't need them. I take them after long stays in the hospital for the stress that is caused and the anxiety into getting back into a normal life. I am not violent, have never been violent, and would take a bullet for a stranger if his life was in danger. I am now considering never taking these again, although I am never on them permanently. Soon, anyone who visits a pharmacy, or the med isle of walmart, will be singled out and disarmed. IF we let this continue.

Several years ago, during one of my semi-annual "hey doc I want to quit smoking" visits, before an unfortunate heart attack really motivated me to quit smoking, I was prescribed bupropion. My doc was very specific on the prescription when he wrote, in large, clear letters, "generic for Zyban for smoking cessation."

I asked why he did that; I'd seen scrips before, and no doc had ever gone to the effort to clearly and boldly PRINT that sort of message.

His answer: Bupropion is an anti-depressant medication that is marketed as Wellbutrin for treatment of depression...and marketed as Zyban for smoking cessation. Prescribing either Wellbutrin or Zyban would cost significantly more, due to the name-brands, while prescribing bupropion, the generic name, accomplishes the same goal while keeping costs minimal. However, if anybody ever sees my medical records and notices that I've been prescribed an anti-depressant medication, it could cause problems. So, he took the effort to specify "for smoking cessation."

To this day, and I'm beginning to wonder about this more...is that prescription from 10 years ago going to come back to haunt me because of some gun-grabber provision buried in a law somewhere?

The divisions in the country grow wider....................

YEAH, and I'd venture to say. "It's going to get a lot worse, before we ever see the tide turn to get better."
Hell, IF, And I say IF it ever happens in our lifetime.. I read somewhere, awhile back that said. If we were to get Obama out today. it would take multiple terms, even decades to undo what he has done..
So I think it is safe to say, the U.S. as WE knew it is over and gone.

In the 12 step programs, thinking about ending one's own life goes with the drug/booze territory. The subject pops up automatically when SHTF in their lives then they switch channels on it. That thought comes up first then the subject says "Sure I can do that but here's another option that I'll consider, instead."

Program folks have a saying that may be worth sharing....

"Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem."

I hope that brings comfort or insight to someone who needs it.

Unfortunately, people will be less apt to seek help now that the witch hunts have begun.
