Pictured right is the keel of the USS Oklahoma which was hit by five torpedoes, the last two of which struck above her belt armor and caused her to capsize

Airmen watch helpless as fighter planes burn after being destroyed without the chance to take off. During the entire attack, just eight aircraft managed to take off, six of which were credited with shooting down at least one Japanese

If you are ever able to visit Pearl Harbor, if you look hard enough you can still find evidence from the Japanese attack.

If you are ever able to visit Pearl Harbor, ...
I'm somewhat envious of my sis. She made the pilgrimage to Pearl Harbor during the first week of December, 2001. She managed to find 2 vets who had served in the Signal Corp, one of whom trained at Camp Crowder at the same time as our father. Neither of them knew our dad but she had a very long lunch with the two of them, encouraged them to talk freely, and wrote a book full of notes about their service.

AFAIK, her ex destroyed all her notes and pictures during their divorce. (He destroyed as much of her stuff as he could get his hands on, from high school yearbooks to service commendations, etc.) But if any of that stuff ever turns up, I'll digitize some pictures and post them here.

Of course you can. The smoke stack from the USS Arizona sticks up above the water, and if you’re wearing polarized glasses you can see her under the water.
