I have often wondered how much that flare display cost?

The M206 is about $35 ea using government math. A full bucket is about a $1K. I don’t remember how many buckets are on a C130.

it was about all of the other flucked up programs we, as tax payers, pay for, like, why don't chickens fly, why do we pay more money to world relief than any other country, etc, etc, etc.

A portion of every tax dollar going to "pet projects" or world relief finds its' way back into a politicians pocket. THAT'S why we pay more than any other country!!

Does it really matter how much the cost is?

They are bringing home a fallen "military" hero.

I have 12 years in Marine Corps aviation as KC-130 crew member. I’ve never heard that said except on this website.

What they are doing is called salvo. Now why are they doing it? For this it’s probably just a phot op. Other reasons could be exiting a combat environment and landing in an area that does not allow any ordnance on board. Could also be that they have a flare budget and if you don’t use it, you lose it.

While it looks like angel wings it has nothing to do with an Angel Flight.

Glad to see the Horned Toad has made a comeback in West Texas. Not long ago they were pretty rare to see, now I see them most every day.
