Incredible to contemplate something that huge being that graceful and capable of speeds over mach 3. And designed in the late '50s with slide rules.

Been by those crash sites on dirt bikes. The Mojave is LITTERED with crashes around Edwards AFB (included the base's namesake's)Yeah, I've read a lot about that crash. Absolutely tragic. And the brilliant success of the Valkyrie's escape system...for one of the crew. It failed for the other and didn't save him.
