Boys, I picked up this old pistol in one of my bidding frinzys--it is a true 1911 frame, (Colt made 5000 FRAME ONLY in 1914), and has an RI Arsenal serial number. The upper has all NM numbers from the early 1960's. This pistol was sold to me as being shot, then purchased from the military at the national match. I have no paperwork to verify that, but the research I have done has done nothing to convince me otherwise. The mag with the gun is NOT one of the original 3. I have shot it, it is very accurate, and reliable. The trigger is really good. I shot low power SWC,s in it, and it did not miss a lick. (One of the hulls landed about 4 inches from the pistol, which makes me think it is a ball gun) If you have 900.00 burning a hole in your pocket, she can be yours.
