I'm new here, and one of the gun related things I like to do is get old guns shooting again. That involves both repairs and making old ammunition, but the reward at the end of that, shooting something over 100 years old is a real pleasure for this old man.

Here's a recent project, a Merwin 7 shot revolver in 32 SW. An old black powder round, it's hardly considered today, but back in it's day was quite common. A town or card table distance gun I was surprised at it's 10 yard off hand accuracy with .3cc FFFg and a 90 grain Accurate cast bullet.

    Gunz are icky.
    Coolness.
I used to enjoy doing the same.
Bringing an old gun back to life was a hoot.
Mainly I did rifle caliber stuff tho.

Shooting with Leadeye is like going to a museum where they hand you the gun, then a handful of ammo. Try it out.

He is also responsiblefor getting me hooked on old Winchesters.

    Nice pistol.
New a retired 1st Sgt many years ago that had guns dating back to the late 1700s that we would shoot. He really got me addicted in BP. Brings back memories. Thanks.

I'd love to find a Merwin Hulbert that's affordable. Gunbroker has a few from time to time, but they usually ask over $1,000 for one that's shootable.

I absolutely LOVE Merwin Hulberts. I have been known to carry a Third Model Pocket Army .44. fantastic gun, way ahead of it's time. To ensure you get a good one make sure the suction is still working. Blue ones are very rare. less than 2% of all Merwins were blue steel. I have a couple merwins.
