My woman and I have been talking about possible buisnesses we would like to open in the future. One idea we both liked was an outdoor shooting range. Ive been looking into the start up cost and alot of the online info has been saying"Look to spend 1mil" and that "theres no money to be made". Is that how much a simple outdoor shooting range would cost to open and is there really no money to be made?

It's going to depend alot upon the cost of the land you put it on and how big you want it to be. A small outdoor range with a few pistol bays and a 100 yard rifle range is going to cost less than say, a 300 yard one.

I think there are folks at the NRA that specialize in helping you in this area. You might give them a call, they can probably fill you in on insurance requirements, environmental concerns, etc.
