Generally need a guide/Peshawar local to take you around there anyhow.

Occasionally you see one small burning section of the trash piles along the curb, or some plots of land with trash you'll see a bulldozer scooping it, but it doesn't do much to help.

I have. My family lives in a neighborhood with an alley of Christians. They strung up lights from roof to roof over the streets with an image of Santa and "Merry Christmas" written on a banner.
