For sale, new custom build BFPU (battlefield pick up) AKM underfolder rifle built on Romanian AKM parts, a 7.62x39 US made CHF (Cold Hard Forged) AKM barrel and new US manufactured Morrissey AKM receiver. Rifle was professionally custom built by Cajun Gunsmith in Plano, Texas, this is NOT an off the shelf Century Arms or Palmetto State AK but a custom built and fitted firearm. Metal parts came from a 1968 Romanian AKM rifle, there is a triangle with an up pointing arrow on the trunnion, indicating manufacture at the Cugir factory. Robert from Cajun Gunsmith completely reworked the parts, hand fitted them, work on the AKM included repopulating the barrel to add a Romanian gas block with bayonet lug, installed the Romanian front and rear trunnions into the new Morrissey receiver, the AKM was completely stripped down, the metal parts degreased, the barrel and some parts were then blued by Cajun Gunsmith and those parts “distressed” by them to give them more of a BFPU look to match the rest of the parts. Robert hand fitted the bolt group and piston to operate smoothly, including properly fitting bolt and trunnion to each other, insuring proper headspacing, modified the trigger and disconnector to prevent trigger slap, as well as deburring and polishing the FCG parts for smoother operation, also custom fitted the selector lever. There have been three test rounds put through the rifle since completion, rifle was test fired with three shots, was informed that it fired and cycled beautifully, most commercial builds cycle rough. This will make a great truck gun, home defense gun and hog & coyote gun. Rifle has all original Cugir manufactured hardwood Romanian upper & lower handguards, lower “reverse dong” handguard has “trench art” including the name “CRISTI”, steel underfolder buttstock and Romanian bakelite pistol grip, a Romanian cleaning rod, mounted below the barrel, original Romanian leather sling. Rifle includes two Romanian used 30 round magazines, Romanian 4 cell magazine pouch, original Romanian cleaning kit, original Romanian oil/solvent bottle and an original Romanian bayonet, as shown in pictures.
