True dat! I heard their vile NYC cheer on the radio This morning. My tolerance is Officially REVOKED.
I was jesting.
Hmmm.
There's also this... (pic below) Streaming is a massive money sink almost universally across the industry (Netflix being the exception... for now). Disney seems to be coming to this realization faster than others and looks to be taking steps to return to spending on production then selling to distributors (more classic model) and will probably eventually spin off some or all of their streaming properties. Warner Brothers under Zaslav seems to be understanding this too given a lot of his controversial moves recently. Tech companies trying to buy their way in on the other hand just seem to want to set fire to piles of money.Yet they made (Net Profits) more than $1.27 Billion last quarter & $1.28 Billion the prior quarter. Losing a little on the movie end is worth the cost to further their agenda. Gross Profits were $7.2 Billion in Q1 of 2023 & $28 Billion in 2022 (an increase of 27% over 2021).
