I have a Eine Milliarde Mark note (1 billion mark) my dad brought home from WWII. He said it took a sack of those notes to buy a sack of groceries. For those of you who did not know it, inflation in the Weimar Republic (Germany post WWI) got so bad the workers had to be paid (and spent it) twice a day - before it lost value due to hyperinflation. There were stories of workers needing wheel barrows to collect their pay.
The rondavel I stayed in had A/C, hot & cold water, flush toilet. It was out by the swimming pool, where you could pick fresh oranges, lemons & limes. It was up near the border town of Messina. Pretty trippy when the RSA Mirages jets came in low to check the border.
And that pretty much sums it up.
