Instead of destroying them, they should clean and lube them. Then stash them in a warehouse incase a war breaks out. Then pass them out.The largest surrender of French firearms since WWII.

When Britain passed their draconian laws that caused so many firearms to be surrendered ~3 decades ago, there was a rush by the owners to export them to the U.S. Not a lot came over here but a few important guns were saved.
I didn't hear anything about any similar push to export guns from France this time. I wonder why.

It's the French. If a war breaks out, all of their guns will be dropped within a few days anyway.

Because the French do not like to be accused of profiting off of weapons sales or contributing to weapons proliferation. *This rationalization excludes sales of weapons to third world dictators, madmen, and anyone else as long as it is in wholesale lots.
