For anyone that has added foam to a case, what weight works the best? 1.7lb, or 2.2lb?

I am wanting to custom fit some starlight cases with foam...just not sure which on works best...

Are you cutting out places for them or just setting them in there, if it is heavy equipment your gonna want a heavy dense foam.

Yes, I am gonna cut the shapes of guns, and accessories, etc,... I was thinking the denser the better, but didn't wanna go overboard..

Pluck ones for somereason always deteriorate faster and leave crap all over everything, just make sure you got lense covers man.

I'll be using these to transport my handguns.. No optics... Pice wise, I'll come out ahead by ordering these precut with the pick n pluck, as opposed to buying the sheet of foam and cutting it...I'm gonna do one case with the pick and pluck and see how it goes... I still my experiment with the full sheet down the road...
