    I deprime and resize my rifle ammo on a single stage. Then the brass goes in a tumbler for cleaning. Next they get hand primed. I do the powder dump and bullet seating on a Dillon 650. This method works well for me as most of the time lost has to do with priming problems on a progressive.

    I changed my position on this subject. There is no blanket, one size fits all answer. It really depends on YOU. If you're mechanically inclined, pick up things quickly and have the gumption to wade into reloading and figure things pretty much on your own, then a progressive loader may be just fine for you. If not, start with a single stage loader.

    You aren't wasting any money if you decide to upgrade later. I use my single stage RCBS Rock Chucker press for many reloading tasks. It's in use constantly even with the flock of Dillon stuff that is set up here.
