COLE COUNTY, Mo. (November 19, 2009)—A 15-year-old Missouri girl accused of killing a 9-year-old to see what it felt like has been charged as an adult.
Alyssa Bustamante is named in a two-count indictment charging murder and armed criminal action in the strangulation and stabbing death of 9-year-old Elizabeth Olten.
A judge entered a not guilty plea on the teenager’s behalf and said he would appoint an attorney.
    Olten disappeared in October.
Her body was found buried in the woods a few days later.
Investigators say Bustamante led them to the girl’s grave.
Court documents show that Olten was strangled, stabbed and her throat was cut.
Investigators say the crime was premeditated because the grave was dug several days before the murder.
Bustamante is held in the Cole County jail without bond.
During the adult certification hearing, witnesses testified Bustamante has a history of mental illness.
Despite the adult charges, she could still become eligible for treatment through Missouri's Division of Youth Services.

The way I see it, when they dug up one body, they had another body right there to throw in the hole.

    +1,

family values seem to be not much what they use to, it takes work and perserverance (sp?) to keep these things together. The way I see it too many people think getting married solves issues, or having kids solves issues, doing so for the wrong reason only creates issues. No one wants to be the bad guy, no one wants to put forth the effort that it takes to make a family work or a marriage work and uphold the values of what we (most of us) were raised to uphold.

    Sick.

This kind of crime calls for quick and sure justice.

A public hanging would be appropriate.

TV media, the entertainment industry, video industry have cheapened life to the point young people want to kill for the experience of it.
They have no real role models, the have no love in their hearts only greed and entitlement fill them.
These are the young born & bred in America.
These are the future of our country.
We see this everyday and often ignore it because it happened some where else - to someone else.
Wake up America before its to late!
Very sad but whats sadder is this happens every day all over this country and we never hear about it.

Point #1: It doesn't surprise me based on precisely what MadMo wrote above.

Point #2: Here again is a great example of the perversity of our legal system. The girl is a teen and charged as an adult, yet if she were acquitted and released, had sex with an adult, that adult would be charged as a child molester. Which is she, an adult or a child, make up your minds you legal fruit loops!

Point #3: Sometimes, no matter how good the parenting, the genes just don't mix correctly and a monster is produced. Jeffrey Dahmer is a perfect example of that.
