I taught both my kids how to shoot when they were young. My daughter enjoyed shooting, but never really got into it in a big way.
Earlier this year, she graduated from Navy OCS and her brother and I gave her a M-9 for graduation.
We got a chance to go to the range before she left for training, so I ran her through a practice qualification, which she passed.
She called last night and said she qualified as a Sharpshooter at her Navy qualification. She missed Expert by a couple of points, so she is going to try again as soon as she can.
Oddly enough (to me) Naval Officers are not required to qualify with a firearm. I am happy she wants to qualify and that she did well in her first formal firearms event.
I am proud of my little Butter Bar (Ensign)!
