Quarantine vs. Rec

Quaranteen came out in 2008, we watched it, decent flick. My wife just rented Rec [short for Record], errrrr.......it's the exact same dang movie!!! Literally, the same movie.....except Rec was filmed in Europe somewhere and it is in SPANISH! We don't speak Spanish, so this was a total waste of time.

WHY would they rename a freakin movie? Why not keep the same name & make it a little more apparent that one is in English and on is in Spanish?

Because REC was made first, and our incompetent "film makers" in Hollywood can't even come up with a fresh idea. Everything they do is a freaking remake now.

I should point out that this isn't actually a new occurrence... The Magnificent Seven is a very faithful remake of Akira Kurasawa's Seven Samurai. Heck, the Sergio Leone great a Fistful of Dollars was so close a remake of Kurasawa's Yojimbo that some of the scenes even use props that are as identical as possible.

Hey, people will watch their movies, dispite the fact that they are political idiots who are out of touch with America, can't come up with a genuine idea to save their life, and somehow believe that making entertainment makes them enlightened.

The point is that we, as a whole, don't demand much from these film makers. Add some cool scenes, some sensual stuff, some gore here, and people will keep on spending their $7-$10 bucks to watch the same old stuff on the big screen.
