If i'm buying a gun from an individual in texas but need it shipped, can i have it shipped directly to me or do i still need to have it shipped to an FFL?
(assume i provide valid TX DL and CHL via fax/email scan)
From what I understand and what I've been told you can not ship a firearm from person to person unless you ship it to an FFL and they pick it up and do the paperwork. I read the UPS and USPS descriptions and thats what I got out of it. So you would have to have it sent to an FFL and pick it up unless it was a really old rifle. Am I right, anyone?
has to be shipped to an FFL. face to face sales are don't require a FFL transfer but anything that has to be shipped through the mail has to be Shipped to and FFL and transfered to you.
In state, I believe you can ship person to person but not via mail. Since fedex usually goes to Memphis first that may constitute interstate. Check the laws out. Also the carriers can add their own requirements.
