I bring at least 100rds per semi-auto, half that for bolt rifles, 100 shells/day for clays , and several hundred 22 rds. anytime I bring one out. I do shoot about 3 to 5 times per month either at property or ranges, so I feel no need to run rounds through my guns just to do it. I do alot of data gathering as a reloader and typically put a third of my shots through a chronograph, trying to dial in the perfect load. I used to pack heavy but now I pack with purpose.

That depends on the range and the day. If it's on the weekend I'm headed to my own property with my wife and daughter and a LOT of hardware. Those days I usualy bring a case of shells for each shotgun, 3000 rds of .223, 1500 to 2000 rds of 7.62 x 39, 200 to 300 rds for each pistol. We eat breakfast, lunch and dinner out there and usually have many friends stop by throughout the day.
When I'm out west working during the week I usually take one or two guns to work with and enough ammo to shoot till sundown.

I shoot every weekend so I can't really afford to burn thousands of rounds per range trip. I usually bring a few hundred .22lr and 50 to 100 of whatever centerfire calibers I brought, so probably 500-600 total.
