We're all very aware that many parts kits for AK's have demilled receiver stubs, I was wondering if it was at all possible to actually re-build these stamped stubs into a whole receiver, provided that you leave the full-auto parts out. If anyone can actually provide these services, that would be great too.

Imho it would be easier to build the receiver from a receiver flat. Either way you have to harden the receiver at the axis pin holes on the receiver. I personally would just buy a new receiver that is all heat treated like a NDS.

I don't know for sure if the ATF would have a problem with rebuilding "machinegun" receivers, but I wouldn't want to find out the hard way. I seem to remember a company that rewelded M14 receivers was asked to stop.
