not gonna lie, this has me worried a bit. Only because San Antonio has the Democratic Golden Boy Castro as its mayor. He is a terrible mayor, but due to the fact that he is latino and all that other brown skin jazz (no racism meant) all of the people in this town follow his every word. Pre-K for SA was the stupidest idea ever, and he managed to get it passed. He has since said that Texas will be a blue state in the near future, and i believe that if he heads up this charge, it just may happen.

High probability it will turn blue. Hispanics LIVE a conservative lifestyle but the majority VOTE democratic.

if they can get this gun control issue to go through in Colorado, (which is a red state for the most part) it will embolden them to think that hey can flip states. Texas is the crown jewel; but they will move through Dixe and not stop till they have them all. NC and VA were once solid red states. now look at them. wishy washy as hell

The government is looking to start another civil war, only this time the battlegrounds won't be First and Second Manassas, Shiloh, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Murfreesboro, Chancellorsville, Vicksburg, Gettysburg and the like. THIS time it's going to be in the halls of the House and Congress. They are attacking OUR civil rights and this time it's not just the South that is targeted. THIS time it's all the states that were against Obastard and any of his drooling socialist/Marxist minions. THIS time it's all the states that believe in our civil rights and support our full Second Amendment rights.

I am not very confident that this will ever happen. Not to say that it won't, but I just don't think that the majority of the people here will allow that kind of crap to happen. If Texas were to go blue we'd never have a republican in the White House ever again.

I love Texas, but if this place goes liberal it's not out of the question for me to look to Montana or Wyoming... But I don't want to have that choice forced on me, so we need to combat this liberal talk. Liberal and Texas shouldn't even be used in the same sentence unless it's "kick that commie liberal out of Texas"

ya and perry prouncing around kalifornia saying "move here" didn't help none either !! Now, I know everyone left in kalifornia ain't a libtard, however, there are libtards and rino's as well as the true believer in liberties such as is. The libtards and rino's wont take long to want to "better" our great state of Texas with all their new social rules to live and abide by. OBEY !!

Memories are short. The blacks and hispanics need to be reminded that the Democrats were the racists fighting against racial equality. Now, they are still using the minorities to further their causes. The dems are using trumped up racism to keep minorities on their side. It's working.

I am convinced that the democrat party leadership is demon possessed and the no questions asked followers are captured by it's spell. How else could one explain the tolerance for evil and injustice.

We've got to be proactive and shut it down in Texas.

I received that website on my FB page from a HS friend yesterday. <puke> My first thought, "Hell no".

You guys should check out the voter turnout maps for '08 and '12. 2012 Election Results Map by State - Live Voting Updates - POLITICO.com

All the major metros/counties here in TX voted blue - El Paso, southern border, Bexar, Travis, Dallas, Harris. That is a huge warning. The rural areas outside the metros are still red. Overwhelmingly red if you look at individual counties. The problem is the metros are overwhelmingly populated with people who want blue promises and goodies. I read an article after the elections that broke down the idea that is a referendum on rural vs urban, city vs country mindset. People want services and stuff and have forgotten or don't know the great freedoms of being left alone.

    Absolutely.

Our Texas is already turning tide fro infiltrators from Commiefornia. While it's great "Texas is open for business" I'm tired of blues coming over and dirtying up our state with their BS ideas and politics. This is OUR state. We like it RED. We like guns and diesel trucks. We like freedom. We like wide open spaces. We like friendly people. We like the spirit in which Texas was born and how we were raised.

Blues: Take your junk and stuff it! Go home. Leave. Get out. We don't want you. We don't want more gn laws. We don't want more regulation. We don't need to be spoon fed. It is called independence. We've already done it. And we don't need you taking us backwards.

Texans take note, look at Colorado. If it doesn't open your eyes and make your nervous, you better think again!

Definite warning there. Here in Nevada, we have already been invaded by the nanny state mentality of the shitheads from the west. It's starting to appear in some of our biennial legislation (our legislature only meets once every 2 years and only for 120 days) and it's really starting to piss off the gun owners here. The important financial matters are being sidelined by dipshit gun control legislation....which most likely won't survive committee or if it does, it gets killed on the legislature floor. But it's a waste of legislative time when they have so little of it.

NYC decides how NY goes. Most of rest of NY is conservative.

LA and SF decide how CA goes. A big part of CA is conservative.

This is what we have to look forward to. I can't tell you about other parts of the state but in Dallas County, they HAVE stated their goal is to turn Texas into a blue state. Many people are moving here from these liberal cities and helping to change Texas.

The problem isn't so much the people transplanting from other states, the problem is that the Republican party can't sell their message to Hispanic voters. Hispanics represent the fastest growing demographic group in Texas, and they vote for Democrats by a large margin. Republicans have a problem: they are lousy salesmen. They would market sushi as 'Raw Dead Fish'. They talk about reaching out to Hispanics and other groups, but they just can't pull it off.

There should be parts of the Republican message that resonate with Hispanics. Values issues such as opposing abortion and gay marriage should be an easy sell since the majority of Hispanics are Catholic; they've been taught from an early age that these things are wrong according to the church. Even the hot-button issue of immigration doesn't necessarily have to work against Republicans when talking to Hispanics. Why should Hispanics who are legal citizens in this country want money taken from them to pay for benefits that go to people who come across the border illegally and 'cut in line' for government handouts? For the most part, Hispanics understand the value of hard work - a core belief of conservatism.

People like Ted Cruz are the future of the Republican party in states like ours with large Hispanic populations. We just don't have enough like him yet.
