Mossberg makes a bolt gun in .223, with a heavy fluted barrel and it feeds from M16 Mags. Mine prefers 62 grain ammo over 55 grain or 69 grain.
The barrel has 1/9 twist rifling. Nice gun, the barrel is free floated.

These little to no recoil shooting this gun.

I also have a CZ 527 in 7.62X39mm that's a light recoiling gun.

+1 TCM .22 would be a great plinker/varmit gun... Ammo is cheap enough.
