Have to pick up a couple of the kids coming back from a cruise in Galveston next Saturday (15th) and thinking about heading over to Houston Friday afternoon. There is a gun for sale I am thinking about picking up and looking for some delicious BBQ for dinner Friday. Don't have a room yet so any area will work. Thanks

Joe's BBQ in Alvin is great.

Dunno your plans or route, but Leon's in Galveston is great. Goode co is great but seemed pricey to me. Carl's bbq way up hwy 290 passed hwy 6 is awesome.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! Think I will give Goode Co a try in Katy as I should be hitting there around 630 or 7 on my way into town.

Goode Co isn't bad but it definitely has that chain restaurant feel. It's also not in Katy but on the Katy Frwy between the loop and beltwy 8. For something a bit more original try Nonmacher’s Bar-B-Que on Mason. Been open for 30 years and is great. Midway is also very good and well worth a visit if your in Katy. Leon's in Galveston is also as good or better than anyplace yet mentioned.

Dickinson BBQ is excellent and on your way to Houston from Galveston turn right on 517 it's about 1.5 miles on the right
