I have an old 10 gauge shotgun. I accidentally bought steel shot which can't/shouldn't be fired through a full choke. To get my money's worth I had thought of emptying the steel and loading lead. Would you think that cutting out the top and loading lead, then roller crimping a nitro card on top would work? "Taofledormous" does something similar on his YouTube channel

Just my opinion, save your time and go buy lead shot. Your time has to be worth more than doing that unless you really enjoy it.

I agree with buying the correct ammo. Been reloading 12, 20 and .410 shotshells since the late sixties. I do not tinker with the recipes found in the reloading manuals and strongly advise against doing that.

Just to chide myself to eliminate recipe tinkering, I remind myself that the manual publishers spend mega bucks to develop those loads in laboratories. Then I think that I'll "improve" the recipes in my loading room. That's not smart..... snicker.
