If you’re talking about Mickey who owned “Ammo Depot” in Mesquite and had the shooting range beside the Trinity river, he moved his shop to Caddo Mills. The old store is still there but it’s now “The Armory”.
"Missed it by that much".
I guess your move from coommiefornia won't be too much of a shock if you are moving to the metroplex. Welcome back!
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!
Yes! That was him! We used to throw oranges and grapefruits and whatnot into the river as moving targets as they floated away! I loved the simple rules there: something like (a.) don’t leave a mess, and (b.) don’t shoot each other or the trees! I hope the situation there is still the same these days? I will definitely look him up and see what the going rate is now these days for a key.
Heck no kidding! I had a registered receiver M-16. Bought for around $5k and sold for around $8k as I recall. I thought I did great. Not even funny what they go for now!
Yep, good times out there. Everyone was nice and a lot of them would offer to let you shoot their machine guns. I pissed everyone off once by throwing a smoke bomb/grenade thing into the river. The damn thing was made to float upright I guess and smoked the whole place out. Everyone was trying shoot it, a guy with an M16 finally took care of it.
LOL that was not me! I hope to get back there later in the year. Is the lease still available there do you know?
Not sure, I haven’t been there since 2000.
Welcome back to Texas and to TGT!
