Dumb move or not, he had control of the situation from the looks of things. Even before he took the shotgun. He didn't react in a panic.

He looked like he was well prepared for the tactic he used. The BG was not. He is lucky that the guy had the cool calm attitude not to let his adrenalin over flow and shoot him in the back as he ran away like a coward.

From the way he had his hands placed on the shotgun, it looks like he was getting ready to use it as a club.

Robber beaten senseless with his own gun.

THERE'S a headline that could make a grown man giggle.

You missed the best part: the robber drove by a few minutes after and asked for his gun back.

Man grabs shotgun from armed robber in New Orleans - NY Daily News

The New Orleans Police Department said that a black sedan with two men — the attacker and an accomplice — inside circled the block several times before pulling up to the victim and proposing a trade, reported:

"Give me my gun back and I'll give you your phone that you dropped," the driver said.
