    LOL!! Reminds me of Granny. My uncle had his outhouse on the back of the lot inside a large fenced area where his chickens were. When Granny was making a run to the outhouse, she was jumped by uncles Road Island Red rooster. After she finished her business she got the axe from the woodpile and when the dust settled there wasn't much left of the rooster. LOL! Life in a small 1950's town.

    Grandpa didn't come to town very often for some reason. The bunk house was safer.

    The Wooldlands
    I had the shit kicked out of me by a big rooster when I was about 4 or 5. My uncle Roy came to my rescue. When he was jogging toward me in the yard I remember him hollering to my great-grandma who was on the porch - "Maw - we're havin' chicken for dinner tonight". 50 or so years later it still is the best meal I remember having.
