    Gents.
Talk me out of buying this lar8 a4.
    I'm thinking the 26" barrel.
I know the mag situation is a PITA. But I love my rra 15 and am liking the thought that the lar8 is great out of the box.

If you find it at a reasonable price, snatch it up. For me it's a RRA or a S&W M&P. Way cheaper to buy an AR-10 than to assemble one for what ever reason.

You mean a 16" barrel, not 26" right? I'm looking into getting a 20". 16" in 308 is a bit short. 18" borderline. 20" is where I'm at. Hard to find assembled AR-10's with a 20" barrel. My opinion only.

Mags are available, u just need to know the right people :)

    I agree.
And nope, I mean 26". Lol.
Then add an additional 8" from my AAC SDN and I'll be able to poke someone to death if I can't reach em with a 308

I was about to ask what the "mag situation" is.

I recently found 5 and 10 round mags at a gun show and they were around $15 each IIRC.
Up until just a few weks ago, they were unobtainable.

    Is there something I'm missing?

I looked on the RRA sight after I typed in my reply. Looks like they make 26" in their varmit series and predator series if I recall. I really don't like the look of those bull SS barrels. what 26" were you looking at ?

The mag "situation" is that rra 10s are FAL mag types.
The plastic ones from rra have a few fitment issues and requires filing to get the mags to free drop when released.
They tote that "the readily available and cheap fal mags can be used". Well they're no longer available or cheap. And they don't fit as well as the rra plastic ones.

And I'm looking at the a4 varmint 26" with a CAR tactical stock. I hate the factory stocks....

    This with the 26" barrel.
Haven't decided on the gas buster charging handle and chrome trigger.
Probably no to the chrome trigger BC rra 2 stage triggers are already so smooth.
