Police shooting at Redondo Beach man during Dorner manhunt was ‘reasonable mistake,’ DA says

Officer Brian McGee acted in “an atmosphere of fear and extreme anticipation” when he purposely rammed David Perdue’s pickup truck and fired at least three shots at him on Feb. 7, 2013, mistakenly believing Dorner was at the wheel. The bullets missed Perdue, who has filed a lawsuit against the city of Torrance.
“McGee’s belief that Dorner was driving the truck was reasonable,” prosecutors said in ruling the shooting was justified.

Didnt they shoot up another truck with one or two women jn it during this?

Yep. But I'm sure it's also reasonable to mistake two Hispanic women for a large black man. I mean, they were in a pickup was shaped somewhat the same as Dorner's but a different color - how were the cops to know they were shooting at the wrong people?

So, it's reasonable to shoot at the wrong person without any evidence that you might be shooting at the right one. Makes sense. After all, we found out this week that cops can beat a man who isn't a threat to death and avoid conviction as long as they follow their training when doing so.

Yes and killed or paralyzed one of the two women. It was a bright blue tacoma? with two asian ladies delivering newspapers. The truck in this incident was a black honda pickup truck. They were looking for a silver nissan titan IIRC

Thought they were Hispanic. Either way, one was seriously injured, the other was damned lucky to come out un-perforated, and two small women in a blue pickup apparently look just like one large black man in a silver pickup.
