I'm damn near broke down in the richardson area. My engine is missfireing and for some reason I don't have my tools with me, is there anyone here that has a decent ratchet set and know-how with engines? (If nothing else ill take you up on the ratchet set)

Check your plug boots first. Did you buy gas tecently??

Get some water dispersant and dump in the gas tank....you might have gotten some water-contaminated gas.

Plug boots - the connection point between the plug wires and the plugs - if wet/dirty and cracked, they'll often short out there to the engine, causing a misfire.

What engine, make, model, year? Helps to know....

It's a 204 Chevy Colorado. With a 3.5l inline 5 yes it's a five cylinder engine

First thing I'd check is for water in fuel....get some dispersent, especially if you just recently topped off.

I should say its less like a missfireand more like I'm not running on all 5 cylinder

The misfires were constant to the point my truck sounded like a Harley. On a side note the p o s decidedit wanted to work again.... I'm not countin my chickens just yet mind youg

More a matter of data points. A car w/ignition problems will rev up just fine, until you put it under load - then it'll misfire (normally). A car missing at all points, I'd normally look at fuel.

Nada - hope he didn't break down in the bad side of town, and has now become a "catcher"......
